While Europe is suffering from floods, abnormal cold has arrived in Africa.

In the Republic of South Africa, snow fell for the first time in many years, record frosts were recorded – almost -10 degrees.

Low temperature records were broken in 19 areas of South Africa on the night of 24 July.

In the Kimberley the temperature dropped to -9.9 degrees. There have never been such cold temperatures there in the entire history of meteorological observations.

In Johannesburg, 7 degrees below zero was recorded. The previous record of 6.3 degrees below zero was recorded in the city in 1995.

For the first time in many years, snow fell in the country. Local children saw him for the first time in their lives.

Many roads are closed due to icing.

Meteorologists predict that the abnormal cold will last in South Africa for another week.
