The head of the Italian government, Giorgia Meloni, announced the country’s readiness to become a guarantor of the peace treaty on Ukraine.

What did Melony suggest?
The Italian Prime Minister noted that for a peaceful resolution of the situation in Ukraine, signals are needed from both sides, but there are none.
But during a conversation with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, I was glad to hear about his intention to take initiatives in this direction,” Meloni stated.
According to her, Italy is ready to act as a guarantor of the peace process.
Therefore, I intend to visit Kyiv before February 24, – said the Prime Minister of Italy.
According to Meloni, in order to create conditions for peace, we need to continue to support Ukraine, whether someone likes it or not.
Nobody likes war, added the head of the Italian government.
Let us recall that last week the American publication The Wall Street Journal, citing sources in European and American diplomatic circles, reported that Zelensky’s team is working out the details of the peace plan, which is planned to be presented in February 2023.
Speaking before the US Congress during a visit to Washington, Zelensky said that he had discussed Kyiv’s proposals for a peace settlement with US President Joseph Biden and that the American leader supported the idea of a global peace summit to discuss the proposals of the Ukrainian side.
Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, commenting on Zelensky’s initiative for a peace summit at the UN, said that there can be no peace plan without taking into account new realities – the entry into the Russian Federation of four new regions.
