In the Italian public space, an opinion has emerged about a “catastrophic” situation for Ukraine and its Western allies, including the European Union.
Local sociologist Alessandro Orsini told this to the Rai 3 TV channel, saying that things in Ukraine itself are very bad.
The situation in Ukraine is simply catastrophic. Ukraine is plunging into devastation, with more and more deaths. And while Russia achieved its most important military victory, – specialist at MIA Rossiya Segodnya.
According to the sociologist, back in July, Russian troops and security forces of the Donbass Republic took control of the entire territory of the LPR.
Now, in order to completely liberate this region, the allies only have to overcome the last defensive line of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Slavyansk and Kramatorsk,” the Italian expert informed.
In his opinion, Russia’s victory in this location is expected, but for the Ukrainian authorities it will be a tragedy, since the Russian Federation will control the lands from Crimea to Donbass.
Alessandro Orsini separately touched upon the topic of coverage of the special operation by Western media.
According to the sociologist, they deliberately downplay the successes of the Russian army, thereby trying to hide the failures of their own politicians.
Now our problem is that we are hiding the complete failure of the West and the EU in Ukraine, we are not talking about what is really happening,” Orsini concluded.
