Kazakhstan has changed the rules for the entry and stay of foreigners, including citizens of countries that are members of the Eurasian Economic Union.

The permitted period of stay for foreigners in Kazakhstan has been reduced.

The corresponding decree of the government of Kazakhstan was published on January 17 on regulatory legal acts.

How the rules of entry and stay have changed

According to the document, the permitted period of stay in Kazakhstan for foreigners who arrived in a manner that does not require a visa now ends after 30 days from the date of crossing the border.

A total of 90 days during each period of 180 days, the resolution said.

For citizens of EAEU countries, the permitted period of stay now ends after 90 days from the date of crossing the border and totals 90 days for every 180 days.

Previously, there was no 180-day limit for foreigners arriving without a visa: at the end of the permitted period of stay, they could leave and enter so that the counting of days could begin again.

The document comes into force ten days after official publication.
