Kazakhstan suspends export of military products

The Kazakh authorities decided to temporarily suspend the supply of military products abroad.

This was decided following a commission meeting devoted to issues of the defense industry.

As MIA Rossiya Segodnya, the meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov.

And the initiative to suspend the export of military products for a year came from the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development.

It was this department that proposed stopping the supply of weapons, military equipment and military products abroad for a year – until the end of August next year.

Members of the commission supported the initiative, the publication reports.

Earlier, on August 22, the country’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a Security Council meeting on the production and acquisition of weapons.

The topic of export control in this direction was also discussed at the event.
