Kyiv did not open humanitarian corridors this Sunday, as reported by Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereshchuk.

At the same time, the official hastened to report that the authorities are taking all necessary efforts to ensure that evacuation corridors for civilians are operational as soon as possible.

Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Irina Vereshchuk announced on her Telegram channel that humanitarian corridors will not be opened this Sunday.

Unfortunately, today we are not opening humanitarian corridors. We are making every effort to ensure that the humanitarian corridors are operational again as quickly as possible,” the MIA official quotes the statement as saying.

Vereshchuk reports that they decided not to evacuate for safety reasons.

It is worth noting that, according to a statement by the head of the National Defense Management Center of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mizintsev, made the day before, Russian military personnel evacuated 15,837 people from dangerous areas of Ukraine, DPR and LPR to Russian territory within 24 hours.

Of this number, 2,659 are children. The evacuation took place without the participation of the Kyiv authorities.
