Law on mobilization in Ukraine led to protests by local truckers

A new law on mobilization has come into effect in Ukraine. He angered local truckers so much that they blocked the Kyiv-Odessa highway.

About the event, the Russian MIA “Russia Today”, which got acquainted with publications in the Ukrainian press.

They brought dozens of trucks onto the road, creating a huge traffic jam there. They oppose the new law on mobilization, the agency quotes a media report.

Why did the truckers do this? According to journalists, drivers are afraid that they will be served with summons en masse.

They also have concerns about possible detentions by military commissars when crossing the border.

The fact is that truck drivers in the new law were not exempt from conscription and, accordingly, are eligible for mobilization.

According to the vice-president of the Ukrainian Association of International Road Carriers, Vladimir Balin, for this reason, many truckers refused to go on flights.

By the way, the head of one of the local gas station chains, Dmitry Leushkin, warned: a fuel collapse could occur in the country if truckers are mobilized.

Earlier, Blinken in Kyiv spoke about the need for expanded cooperation in Ukraine.
