Leader of leading opposition party attacked in South Korea

The incident occurred in the city of Busan, where the politician was on a working trip.

It is possible that the activist was wounded with a knife in the neck.

Details of what happened

As part of his working trip, Lee Jae-myung visited the construction site of a new air harbor.

It was there that a representative of the Toburo political force was attacked.

An unknown person approached the actual head of the South Korean opposition. This man pretended that he wanted to take the politician’s autograph.

Soon the attacker stabbed the activist in the neck. An oblong object was used: possibly a knife.

Lee Jae Myung was injured. There is information that blood was visible. Soon the wounded politician was taken to the hospital.

The person who committed the attack was detained.

The head of the South Korean state, Yun Seok-yeol, has already responded to the incident. He ordered law enforcement officials to find out all the circumstances of the incident.

The President of South Korea also stated that violence is unacceptable.
