Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has announced that his doors are now closed to US Ambassador to Ankara Jeff Flake.
The Turkish leader made this message after a senior American diplomat met with the presidential candidate from the opposition Republican People’s Party, Kemal Kilicdaroğlu.
Erdogan was outraged by the fact that “Biden’s ambassador” visited Kemal, despite the fact that President Erdogan is in Turkey.
Shame on you, think with your head. You are an ambassador. With what face will you then ask for a meeting with the president? Our doors are closed to him. Let him know his place – Head of State TASS.
Let us remind you that the presidential elections in Turkey are scheduled for May 14. By the way, they will be held simultaneously with the parliamentary ones.
The previous presidential election campaign in the country took place on June 24, 2018.
The current head of state won with 52.6% of the votes received.
