The Minister of Justice and Public Security, Ricardo Lewandowski, compared the conflict between the minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Alexandre de Moraes, and the owner of the social network “X”, Elon Musk, with the actions of the United States in relation the operation of TikTok in the country.
The statement was made this Friday (20), during the minister’s participation in an event in São Paulo that was discussing the sectoral impacts of Artificial Intelligence in the world, promoted by Unisa (University of Santo Amaro).
“Ideologically, this same stranglehold that the United States is digging with TikTok, we now in the Federal Supreme Court, Alexandre de Moraes, attests to washing with the ‘X’ of Elon Musk, who is supposedly at the service of far-right groups ”, he pointed out.
Previously, Lewandowski said that TikTok, which belongs to China and is massively adopted by young Americans and around the world, is being banned in the US.
He cited the law that states that either the platform sells controlling interest to an American group, or else they will have to leave the United States because it is supposedly serving the strategic interests of the Chinese in the country.
According to Lewandowski, the advancement of Artificial Intelligence on the planet raises geopolitical concerns.
“Elon Musk is not only in Brazil, he is in Hungary, he is in India, he is in China, sometimes making concessions, sometimes repressing the messages he sends by censorship”, said the minister.
For him, these are serious issues that could shake the political system of many countries.
“Many still, and rightly so, fear for the maintenance or survival of the traditional patterns of cultural, social and even religious life of various communities”, he highlighted.
Lewandowski said that TikTok is winning the hearts and minds of young people by sending messages and dominating.
“China has this intention of dominating the world militarily, economically, politically, ideologically,” he concluded.
