The president of the Chamber, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), signaled to allies that he will not be in a hurry to process the package of proposals that affect the powers of the (STF).

This week, the Chamber’s Constitution and Justice Committee (CCJ) The texts were easily approved by the opposition with the help of deputies from parties that have ministries in the Lula government.

Now, PECs need to be analyzed in special temporary commissions, which depend on Lira to be created.

Possibilities

There are also those who believe that Lira should only give approval to the commission for the – this is because the text has already been approved by the Senate – or even not put anything to a vote in the plenary.

Officially, Lira has not commented, but his allies say he will not rush anything.

Request to create commissions

The opposition intends to reinforce the request to the President of the Chamber that he immediately create the commissions. They don’t want the proposals to be shelved. There is no deadline for Lira to determine the creation of these commissions.

The government officials are in no rush to form collegiate bodies and will try to better balance the correlation of forces between future members.

Path

Once the commissions are created, government officials must also try to expand discussions and extend the dialogue with public hearings and the participation of representatives of the judiciary. The desire is to build a majority to change – or even bury – the content of the proposals.

After the special committees, the proposals still need to go through the Chamber plenary.
