The president of the PSD, Gilberto Kassab, praised the performance of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) in the National Congress and his relationship with the Judiciary, and that the PT member “what he wanted” in Congress.
According to the party leader, the current government has achieved effective political articulation, resulting in significant approvals of projects, especially in the economic area.
Kassab highlighted the role of the president of the Chamber, Arthur Lira (Progressistas), who “helped the government a lot” in approving important measures.
Improved institutional relationship
Kassab highlighted that Lula’s relationship with the Federal Supreme Court and the Public Ministry is “institutional and better than the previous government”.
He characterized the past government’s interaction with these institutions as “almost a warlike relationship”, contrasting with the current approach, which he considers more constructive.
The PSD president also commented on the economic scenario, attributing part of the current success to favorable economic factors. “The economy is doing well, inflation is contained, jobs are increasing, interest rates have fallen”, observed Kassab.
However, he warned of less optimistic future prospects highlighted by economic analysts. According to Kassab, there are concerns regarding inflation, employment and fiscal balance in the long term, indicating that these are the main economic challenges that Brazil currently faces.
