President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) receives ministers and government leaders in his office this Monday morning (16) to discuss, among other matters, actions to combat fires and aid to the states most impacted by the fires.

The president’s meeting with ministers from the Palácio do Planalto and government leaders in the Chamber of Deputies, the Federal Senate and the National Congress is held on Mondays and defines the Executive’s priority themes for the week.

Participating in the meeting were ministers Rui Costa, from the Civil House, Fernando Haddad, from Finance, Márcio Macêdo, from the General Secretariat, Alexandre Padilha, from the Institutional Relations Secretariat, and Paulo Pimenta, from the Social Communication Secretariat.

Government leaders in Congress, Senator Randolfe Rodrigues (PT-AP), in the Senate, Senator Jaques Wagner (PT-BA), and in the Chamber, Representative José Guimarães (PT-CE), will also be present.

A meeting should also take place throughout the day with Minister Marina Silva, of Environment and Climate Change, to discuss measures to be adopted in the face of the climate emergency, according to the president.

This Sunday (15), Lula and First Lady Janja flew over the Brasília National Park, hit by a fire that has already destroyed 1,200 hectares.
