Lula wants Macaé Evaristo to travel around the country and mark a “turn of a new page” | Blogs
President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) stipulated for the new Minister of Human Rights, Macaé Evaristo, that people know the actions of the department and its national character.
Macaé held the first meeting with the ministry team this Monday (9), in Brasília.
According to reports to CNNthe new minister would have demonstrated awareness that she is taking office at a terrible time, but adopted calmness about the transition.
She wants to hear each secretary individually and has arranged new meetings. The objective is to establish priorities for the first 15 days so that there is no interruption in work.
The climate that the government is trying to create is one of turning a new page. The fact that she is a woman, black and has a consolidated history of dedication to the Education agenda made Macaé Evaristo the best option for the government to stop the crisis opened by Silvio Almeida’s accusation of sexual harassment against fellow minister Anielle Franco.
According to sources at Palácio do Planalto, she will have the autonomy to choose her own team, being able to fire secretaries from the former management to form her own team.
