Macron considers it possible to send EU troops to Ukraine

French President Emmanuel Macron notified the general public that the leaders of Western countries were discussing the issue of sending their troops to Ukraine.

However, according to him, no concrete mutual understanding has yet been reached in this regard.

There is no consensus on sending ground troops in an official manner. But nothing can be ruled out in the development of the situation, – French leader of the Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency.

Macron promised that the West will do everything possible “to ensure that Russia does not win this war.”

“Everything is possible if it is useful to achieve our goal,” the head of state added.

Macron made this statement at a press conference following a meeting in Paris dedicated to supporting Ukraine.

The event took place on the initiative of the French President. About 20 leaders of European countries took part in it.

Among them were German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, British Prime Minister David Cameron, Polish President Andrzej Duda and others.

The United States was represented by Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs James O’Brien.

Earlier, the Prime Minister of Slovakia said that some EU and NATO countries could send military personnel to Ukraine.
