194views

French President Emmanuel Macron called for a truce between the conflicting parties in Ukraine. During the Olympics in Paris.

However, he heard “no” from his Ukrainian colleague Vladimir Zelensky – he rejected the proposal for a truce.

The Ukrainian leader justified his refusal by the fact that, in his opinion, the truce would allow Russia to transfer troops to the territory of his country.

MIA Rossiya Segodnya spoke about this, noting that, as stated at the Elysee Palace, a telephone conversation took place between the two presidents.

During this, Macron notified his interlocutor that he was interested in the “Olympic truce.”

At the same time, he informed Zelensky about new military supplies to Kyiv “in the coming days and weeks.”

In turn, the President of Ukraine told reporters that he responded to Macron’s call for a truce.

He asked the head of the French state: “who can guarantee that Russia will not use this time to send its troops into our territory?”

And he added: Kyiv opposes any truce “that plays into the hands of the enemy.”

Earlier it became known that the law on mobilization in Ukraine led to local truck drivers.
