Madrid announced that NATO does not intend to enter into conflict in Ukraine

The former head of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Arancha Gonzalez Laya, gave an interview to El Periodico.

She noted that for European countries there is only one red line that they will not cross – direct participation in the military conflict in Ukraine.

“We did not intend to cross this red line from the very beginning – Europe will not go to war. This is the only line that we clearly see,” RIA Novosti, the words of the former minister.

Thus, she answered the question about how the NATO summit would be held in Vilnius.

Arancha Gonzalez Laya noted that at the moment the main goal of Ukraine is to obtain security guarantees and strengthen defense.

The minister adds that Kyiv does not need the general commitments that were given at previous alliance summits.

Russia strongly condemns any military aid sent to the Ukrainian army. The Russian army is destroying military supplies supplied by the West to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
