64views

A massive power outage occurred on June 21 throughout almost all of Montenegro, as well as in several regions of Croatia, Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The cause of the blackout was a fire on the main power line.

This was reported by the press service of the Montenegrin Electricity Supply System (CEDIS) on social networks.

Why were a number of Balkan countries left without electricity?

According to Radio and Television of Montenegro, today around noon there was a fire on one of the main power lines.

Due to an accident on the CEDIS networks, the Montenegrin power transmission system is without power in almost the entire territory of Montenegro, – CEDIS reported.

The cause of the accident, in turn, was high temperatures. Temperatures in the Western Balkans region are forecast to reach 40 degrees by Saturday.

Media from neighboring Croatia, Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina reported a lack of electricity in networks in energy regions adjacent to and connected to Montenegro.

Earlier it was reported that Türkiye and Russia prevented the second terrorist attack after Crocus.
