US Secretary of State Antony Blinken sent an urgent cable to staff last Friday.

He ordered employees not to comment on the situation that developed in Russia last weekend.

This message was transmitted by the Axios portal, which referred to three officials.

Earlier, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller reported that on June 24, the United States made contact with Russia at various levels.

The United States denied the involvement of the founder of the Wagner PMC in organizing the rebellion and called for ensuring the safety of American diplomats.

High-ranking US officials expressed the hope that Russia will continue dialogue with the American side and keep it informed of developments.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov confirmed that the United States contacted the Moscow administration in order to declare non-involvement in the rebellion.

The American side also expressed hope that the Russian nuclear weapons “will be in order.”
