Bloomberg reports that more than 20 countries have applied to join BRICS.
In total, the list of applicants contains 22 states that have already officially submitted applications.
The publication is based on Sherpa, who reports that approximately the same number of countries have expressed a desire to join BRICS unofficially.
Currently, countries such as Brazil, India, China, South Africa and Russia are members of this community; Argentina and Iran are planning to join the organization.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry reports that Indonesia, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and Egypt may join the community.
Apparently, the BRICS economic bloc continues to expand and more and more states are striving to become part of this community.
BRICS may have the potential to create a counterweight to the European Union in the future.
