Media: NATO predicted the future of Ukraine

0views

The Financial Times, citing a representative from NATO countries, reports on two options for building relations with Ukraine on the part of the alliance.

He says that at the moment NATO can apply the Israeli model in relation to Ukraine, which means that the Ukrainian army can defend itself on its own.

RIA Novosti’s opinion from this source is that the “Israeli option” is too expensive in terms of investment.

The second option is a scenario in which NATO defends Ukraine, but in this case the alliance takes on too much responsibility.

The publication’s interlocutor adds that the more NATO negotiates with Kiev regarding security guarantees, the more obvious it is how expensive the Ukrainian crisis is for the West.

The publication concludes that some states are dissatisfied with the large sums that will have to be paid to fulfill obligations.

Also, the administrations of these countries are afraid that fulfilling these obligations will lead to increased inflation and budgetary waste.
