Media: the EU demanded to postpone the submission of proposals for Russian assets

0views

Some EU countries insist that the European Commission should not rush to formulate proposals for the use of proceeds from frozen Russian assets.

The administrations of these states believe that the use of these revenues could lead to legal and financial problems.

RIA Novosti reported from the FT that the decision to use income from Russian assets could undermine the trust of states that keep their assets in Europe.

Earlier, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, reported that a decision on the use of income from Russian assets would be made before the summer holidays.

The FT reports that this decision must be made in accordance with legal and financial issues.

It is also noted that some capitals privately insist that the EC has postponed making decisions for now.

The publication also notes that the EU countries do not have a common opinion on this issue.
