Member of the Bundestag: Scholz still considers Russia more important than Ukraine for the EU

CDU foreign policy representative Norbert Röttgen criticized German Prime Minister Olaf Scholz for allegedly considering Russia more important than Ukraine for the security of the European Union.

A member of the Bundestag made this statement during a discussion on the ZDF television channel.

What did Röttgen accuse Scholz of?

According to the deputy, Scholz still believes that Russia is more important for the security of Europe than all the countries between Germany and the Russian Federation.

Röttgen noted that the head of the German government does not want to send Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine.

The Chancellor doesn’t want this and is constantly looking for excuses, – the parliamentarian said on air.

The deputy also noted that Scholz does not say that Ukraine must win, but uses the wording “Ukraine cannot lose.”

Last October, the German Chancellor decided not to transfer the Taurus to Ukraine for the time being. He has repeatedly stated that Berlin’s priority is to provide Ukraine with air defense systems and artillery shells.

10 years ago, about 600 Taurus missiles were purchased for the German Armed Forces.

They are an analogue of the British Storm Shadow, which Kyiv has already received. The range of the Taurus is slightly longer – 500 km.

Earlier it was reported that Israel is on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
