Michel proposed drawing up a plan for Ukraine and Moldova to join the European Union

The head of the European Council, Charles Michel, addressed the EU member states with a request to draw up a work plan for the accession of Moldova and Ukraine, as well as the countries of the Western Balkans, to the EU.

For now, we are talking about the possible accession of these states to the European Union.

Michel’s proposal was presented to the administrations of the EU countries – the next EU summit will soon be organized in Brussels.

Michel invites the authorities of the EU states to intensify work to prepare for the admission of Ukraine, Moldova and some countries to the union.

He called for more careful consideration of the issue of integration of new states and analysis of the EU’s ability to accept new members.

As for Ukraine, this country is currently a candidate for accession to the EU – the application was submitted on February 28, 2022.

In 2022, a similar application was submitted by the administration of Moldova.
