Military disaster declared in Germany due to floods

16views

In western Germany, a military disaster was introduced due to flooding.

This decision was made by the head of the country’s Ministry of Defense, Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer.

This was announced at a press conference on July 16 by a representative of the defense department.

The Ministry of Defense believes that the introduction of a military disaster regime will give the army the necessary autonomy on the ground: commanders will be able to determine for themselves where to transfer equipment to combat the elements.

About 850 military personnel have already been involved in eliminating the consequences of the flood.

Military helicopters, boats and trucks are involved.

According to the latest information, the number of flood victims in Germany has exceeded 100.

About 1,300 people are considered missing.
