What did the Greek Prime Minister say about the EU budget revision?

Earlier, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, proposed amendments to the EU budget for 2024-2027, suggesting an increase of 66 billion euros to help Ukraine, implement migration programs and strengthen the competitiveness of the community.

50 billion euros in the form of loans and grants are proposed to be provided over the next 4 years to support Ukraine.

Following the summit, the Greek Prime Minister demanded increased resources for the EU Solidarity Fund and solving the migration problem.

The initial discussion about the community budget overhaul was not easy, he said.

I have made Greece’s position absolutely clear: Greece is not going to agree to a solution that only includes Ukraine and nothing else – stated the head of the Greek government, emphasizing that the migration problem should be a priority.
