The level of absolute poverty in Moldova has reached its highest level in the entire history of the republic.
Now the figure is 31 percent.

The absolute poverty level increased and amounted to 31% of the total population, – MIA quotes Diana Karaman as saying.
As the deputy emphasized, this happened for the first time in the history of the country.
According to Karaman, the current situation cannot indicate a high quality of governance in Moldova.
The parliamentarian also drew attention to other problems that have emerged in the republic: an increase in mortality and unemployment, a decrease in wages.
