Monkeypox has reached Turkey. First case confirmed

Tourists, including Belarusians, who have planned a vacation in Turkey, should be very careful.

The fact is that monkeypox has entered the country. The first case of infection has been officially confirmed.

The head of the Turkish Ministry of Health, Fahrettin Koca, announced infection with this virus on June 30.

According to him, a 37-year-old citizen with a weakened immune system became infected. He is isolated.

And he added: at the moment, no other cases of monkeypox have been identified through contact of an infected person with people around him.

As is known, this disease is not transmitted respiratoryly, but through close physical contact, – minister TASS agency.

However, the official did not indicate in which Turkish city the country’s first case of monkeypox infection was recorded.

By the way. There are more and more cases of infection with this virus in the world, but WHO believes that mass vaccination is not necessary.
