NASA, thanks to data from the LRO probe, created a video of what the Apollo 13 astronauts saw while orbiting the Moon. All in very high definition
Data from the LRO (Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter) probe allowed NASA scientists to show what astronauts from they saw as they flew around the far side of the Moon. This video, in 4K resolution, shows the lunar surface, starting from Earth’s sunset until sunrise, and ending with the moment Apollo 13 reestablished radio contact with Mission Control. Also depicted is the path of the free return trajectory around the Moon and a continuous view of our Satellite along that path. The video is obviously sped up and not in ‘real time’.
