According to the latest data, the death toll in Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia has risen to 60 and 43 people respectively.

About 1,300 people are still missing.

There are fears that there will be more victims – stated the police.

Let us remind you that on Monday heavy rains hit the southwest and west of Germany, causing the Moselle and Ahr tributaries of the Rhine to overflow, as well as the rivers Prüm, Sauer, Kiel, Erft and Nims, and flooding began.

The district of Ahrweiler in the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate suffered the most. It is there that 1,300 people are listed as missing.
