Five people were arrested and three cases of violence or threats were recorded, in the first ninety minutes of voting, this Sunday (6), in Mato Grosso do Sul (MS). The data comes from the state Security Forces.
As of 8:30 am, five people were arrested red-handed. Among them, a candidate for councilor in Paranaíba, in the east of the state. He was caught throwing cards across the street. In the same city, two voters were also arrested for vote buying and irregular advertising.
The first bulletin from public security forces shows that during the first hour and a half of voting there were three cases of “use of violence or serious threats” to obtain votes or voter abstention.
The state also registered 11 crimes involving vote buying and cases of electoral corruption.
In total, Mato Grosso do Sul has 2,032,593 voters. Campo Grande, the capital, is the largest electoral college with 646,216 people eligible to vote.
