Munich announced its readiness to accept migrants from the Belarusian-Polish border

3views

The Munich authorities have announced their readiness to accept “without unnecessary bureaucracy” refugees heading to Europe who are forced to huddle on the Belarusian-Polish border.

In an official statement, the authorities of the German city of Munich said that “saving human lives has the highest priority.”

Officials emphasize that the possibility of accepting refugees within the framework of regional and state programs is being considered.

We can no longer watch how people remain on the EU border without prospects and in uncertainty,” the Interfax-West agency quotes a statement from the Munich city authorities.

But there is a nuance. The Munich administration’s lack of a legal basis for granting asylum in Germany to refugees amassed at the border is hampering it.

To resolve the issue, the city government may need the assistance of “higher authorities.”

And yet, the authorities emphasize that they are ready to “quickly and without unnecessary bureaucracy accept people stuck at the border.”

Officials are ready to provide access to all legal procedures required to obtain asylum on the spot.

Let us remind you that a few days ago several thousand more migrants approached the Polish border from the Belarusian side.

These people are fleeing Middle Eastern countries in the hope of obtaining asylum in the EU.
