The Minister of Racial Equality, Anielle Franco, published this Sunday (8) on her social media profile a photo of her wedding ceremony with engineer Carlos Frederico da Silva, held in July this year. In the image, she appears hugging a child.

“My base, my fortress”, he wrote in the caption.

The publication comes amid the case of allegations of sexual harassment involving the former Minister of Human Rights.

The complaints were made to the organization Me Too Brasil and published on the Metrópoles website. Anielle would be one of the victims. THE CNN found that she reported, to members of the government, that she had been the target of harassment.

On Friday (6), President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva announced Almeida’s resignation, after a series of meetings at Palácio do Planalto, claiming to consider the now minister’s stay “unsustainable” due to the seriousness of the accusations.

Shortly after the dismissal was announced, Anielle published a note lamenting the attempts to blame victims in cases of harassment. “Attempts to blame, disqualify, embarrass, or pressure victims to speak in moments of pain and vulnerability are also inappropriate, as they only feed the cycle of violence”, declared the minister.

The other side

In a note released on Friday, the former Minister of Human Rights and Citizenship, Silvio Almeida, said he had asked President Lula to guarantee “total freedom and exemption” in investigations related to the case.

According to him, the investigation of the facts needs to be carried out with the necessary rigor and that can support and welcome any and all victims of violence”. Almeida stated that it will be an opportunity for him to prove my innocence and rebuild himself.
