Nationwide three-day mourning declared in Iraq for those killed in US strikes

The message states that mourning has been declared in all departments and institutions for three days “out of mercy for the civilians and military killed as a result of the American bombing of the Akashat and Al-Qaim areas.”

According to data released by the Shafaq News agency, 16 people became victims of the US air raid in Anbar province. 25 were injured.

The day before, Washington officially confirmed information about attacks on Iraq and Syria.

It was stated that the military hit 85 targets, using 125 rounds of ammunition in just 30 minutes.

The White House called the bombing a response to the January 28 attack on a military base in Jordan.

Iraq said that the US actions are an act of naked aggression that poses a threat to the security and stability of the country.

Earlier, the Syrian Ministry of Defense reported casualties after US strikes.
