The New York Times, citing sources, reports that 20 out of 30 NATO countries have exhausted their stockpiles of weapons to supply to Ukraine.
The remaining 10 member countries of the North Atlantic Alliance are no longer ready to continue to support Kyiv. These are France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands.
NATO countries have exhausted their weapons reserves, and there are increasing calls to refuse support for their Kyiv colleagues under the pretext of threatening their own security, The New York Times.
The publication reports that weapons worth $40 billion were transferred to Ukraine. France spends exactly that much per year on defense, sending almost a quarter of its own artillery to Kyiv.
Italy
The Italian authorities consider the plan to supply weapons to Ukraine a failure. At the beginning of the month, the head of the Ministry of Defense, Guido Crosetto, said that new supplies of weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine are not planned.
France
The authorities of the Fifth Republic are also thinking about this issue – there are increasingly frequent calls to refuse military assistance to Ukraine. In particular, Marine Le Pen is confident that further support for Kyiv is unsafe for Paris.
Germany
Christine Lambrecht, the head of the Ministry of Defense, said that Germany was on the brink and was forced to refuse countries in need of help, but the Germans have not yet officially refused to help Ukraine.
Russia
The Kremlin has repeatedly stated that supplies of Western weapons only prolong the conflict, and transport with weapons for Ukraine was called a legitimate target for the Russian Armed Forces.
