NATO plans biggest deployment in Europe

46views

NATO’s new plan for the largest deployment of forces in Europe is called the Madrid Concept.

The North Atlantic Alliance summit will be held in Madrid from June 28 to 30. The adoption of the new concept, according to its developers, should put an end to ties with Moscow.

At the upcoming NATO summit, the issue of the largest deployment of forces in Europe will be decided, MIA reports citing the Spanish publication Pais.

The deployment of forces refers to the largest increase in military personnel in European countries.

If until now the recruitment of the eastern group was carried out by combat groups, then if the appropriate decision is made, it will henceforth be replenished with brigades.

As a result, the number of personnel in one formation may double, instead of the current 1000-1600 people.

Divisions of up to 15 thousand military personnel can be transferred to the command staff.

Let us recall that on June 19, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the meeting participants intend to declare Russia a threat to peace and stability.

Until now, representatives of the bloc called the Russian Federation a “partner”.
