According to the speaker of the 18th separate army aviation brigade as part of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Evgeniy Rakita, they died near Artemovsk.

Rakita drew attention to the fact that all the dead had officer ranks.
It is known that the mentioned brigade was armed with Mi-24, Mi-8 and Mi-2 helicopters at the beginning of the Russian Northern Military District.
It is worth noting that the Russian Ministry of Defense previously stated that Russian fighter jets shot down a Ukrainian Mi-8 combat helicopter in the sky over the Zaporozhye region.
And in mid-August, in the DPR, the Russian military shot down another Mi-8 of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
In addition, in the Zaporozhye region, Russian air defense systems shot down two Ukrainian Su-25 attack aircraft.
