New data has emerged on the condition of the Slovak Prime Minister who survived the assassination attempt.

On Saturday, May 18, the Minister of Health of Slovakia, Zuzana Dolinkova, announced the latest data on the condition of the assassinated Prime Minister Robert Fico.

According to her statement, her condition has been stabilized but is still considered serious.

The head of the Ministry of Health also drew attention to the fact that the operation performed the day before the prime minister contributed to “getting closer to a positive prognosis.”

She added: the operation carried out on May 17 (lasted two hours) made a “contribution to a positive prognosis for the development of the prime minister’s condition.”

And Deputy Head of Government, Head of the Slovak Ministry of Defense Robert Kaliniak clarified: the Prime Minister is now conscious.

However, the Deputy Prime Minister added, his condition is currently such that it will not allow Fico to be transported to the capital’s hospital in the coming days.

Let us remind you that the assassination attempt on the head of the government of Slovakia took place on May 15 in the city of Gandlova, when he was speaking to local residents.

The politician was shot five times. In critical condition, he was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Banska Bystrica.

It was previously reported that Fico will appear in court on May 18 for the attempted murder.
