New data on the explosion in Germany: there are dead, wounded, missing

It recently became known that a person died as a result of an explosion at a chemical plant in Leverkusen, Germany.

Another 16 citizens were injured. Some sources report 31 casualties. Earlier, the media reported two wounded.

To date, the fate of several people is unknown – they are still considered missing.

According to local publications, four citizens injured in the explosion are now in serious condition.

Let us remind you that the incident happened on Tuesday, July 27. A powerful explosion occurred at the plant of the chemical and pharmaceutical corporation Bayer.

According to eyewitnesses, a huge column of smoke rising above the plant was visible for several kilometers.

City police advised local residents not to leave their homes, and advised them to keep windows and doors closed.

It remains unclear whether there is a danger of air pollution from chemicals. It is also unknown what caused the explosion.

It is only noted that the fire that arose after the explosion has been extinguished.
