The second round of voting in the presidential election has ended in France.

The current head of state, Emmanuel Macron, won. After counting 100% of the ballots, his result was 58.55%.

Main competitor Marine Le Pen (who competed with Macron in previous elections) failed again, gaining 41.45%.

By the way, she admitted defeat and called her opponent, congratulating him on his won campaign.

According to TASS, citing French media, the telephone conversation did not last long.

Then, after the preliminary election results were announced, Le Pen spoke to her supporters.

The politician said: “The game is not over yet: in fact, there will be parliamentary elections in a few weeks.”

We are starting a big election battle, and I will fight in this battle together with Jordan Bardella and with everyone who dared to challenge Emmanuel Macron in this round,” Le Pen said.

At the same time, she called her result in the presidential elections a success and even a “brilliant victory.”

According to her, this result means, including for millions of Europeans, that the French are dissatisfied with the “current system” and they cannot ignore this.

Let us add that Marine Le Pen participated three times as a candidate in the presidential elections.

Last time – in 2017 – she lost to Macron in the second round, gaining 33.9% of the votes.
