Newsweek: Ukraine could play a key role in who wins the US presidential election

Ukraine could play a key role in who wins the US presidential election.

And the outcome of the conflict in Ukraine will depend on who wins them.

An American publication writes about this.

How Ukraine will influence the US elections

Ukraine is likely to play a key role in who wins the 2024 US presidential election, Newsweek reports.

The 2024 elections may also become a determining factor in the outcome of the armed conflict for Kyiv, – stated in the publication.

The publication notes that not only US and Ukrainian Presidents Joseph Biden and Vladimir Zelensky hope for a certain result in 2024: European leaders are also closely watching the American elections to see whether they will have a partner in the US under Biden, or a “sworn friend” under Donald Trump, or another Republican candidate with a position similar to Trump.

And it’s no secret who Russian President Vladimir Putin is rooting for, – the article says.

Polls, according to Newsweek, show that the isolationist tendencies characteristic of Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis are popular among Republican voters.

Trump previously stated that if he wins the 2024 elections, he will be able to prevent a third world war.

The former US President also linked the multi-billion dollar aid to Kyiv with the large earnings of the Biden family in Ukraine and called on Congress to refuse to provide new amounts.

Desantis has said that involvement in the conflict in Ukraine is not a vital US interest and that Washington should seek peace between Russia and Ukraine.

Desantis also said that Washington should not provide assistance to Ukraine that requires the deployment of American troops or allows Kyiv to conduct offensive operations beyond its borders.

In addition, Desantis opposed the transfer of long-range missiles and F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.

The US presidential elections are scheduled for November next year. Trump announced last November that he was entering the race for the presidency. Biden said in April that he was running for a second term to finish what he started.
