No coal. Thermal power plant operation stopped in Ukraine

0views

In Ukraine, due to the lack of coal, the Slavyansk Thermal Power Plant was forced to stop operating.

This thermal power plant is located in the Donetsk region. It has not been working since the morning of October 23rd.

This was reported on the official website of the state company Ukrenergo.

It is noted that as of 10:30 am on Saturday, the thermal power plant was completely stopped and, accordingly, stopped generating electricity from that moment.

Both units cannot bear the load due to a lack of fuel, primarily coal, said representatives of the state-owned company.

The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine informed that the lag behind the schedule of coal accumulation at the Slavyansk Thermal Power Plant is 200,000 tons.

Currently, there are about 590,000 tons of coal in the warehouses of this station and thermal power plants – this is 4.5 times lower than the norm approved by the Ministry of Energy.

Attention is also drawn to the fact that due to repairs and low fuel reserves, on October 22, 43 of the 69 thermal power units in the neighboring country were not functioning.

And over the past month in Ukraine, due to a shortage of coal, every second block of state thermal power plants is not operating.
