The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided to award the 2023 Nobel Peace Prize to Narges Mohammadi for her struggle against the oppression of women in Iran and for promoting human rights and freedom for all.

It was added that the Peace Prize is awarded to all caring people who demonstrate against discrimination and oppression of women by the Iranian authorities.

In the fight for freedom of expression and the right to independence, the lawyer suffered personal costs.

In particular, Iranian authorities arrested her 13 times.

She was found guilty 5 times and was sentenced to a total of 31 years in prison and 154 lashes.

Currently, Narges Mohammadi is serving his sentence in prison.
