Nobody expected it. The European Union has dealt Poland a heavy blow

45views

Warsaw experienced a “heavy blow” unexpectedly inflicted by the European Union. Nobody expected this.

By “heavy blow,” the German publication Die Welt understands Brussels’ refusal to accept changes in Polish legislation concerning the national judicial system.

As reported, these adjustments were aimed precisely at eliminating differences between Poland and the EU.

Vice-President of the European Commission Vera Jourova assessed the law adopted by Warsaw as “inconsistent” with the position of the European Union, MIA Rossiya Segodnya, citing a publication in the said media.

As a result, the material says, Poland will need to once again revise its legislation.

Otherwise, “we won’t pay the money,” Ms. Yurova threatened.

Previously, the press reported that after Ursula von der Leyen’s stay in Poland, the parties came to some kind of agreement, since the EU nevertheless approved the allocation of 35 billion euros from the “coronavirus” fund to Warsaw.

The need for this money was explained by the unstable economy of Poland due to high inflation (13.9%) and refugees from Ukraine in the country (about 4 million people).

But Europeans were warned: the updates to the Polish law are only cosmetic. Almost all the controversial issues pointed out by Brussels can be circumvented.
