Recently it became known that North Korea conducted the first tactical exercises simulating a nuclear counterattack.

In these events, the military used, as noted by local media, “extra-large” multiple launch rocket systems of 600 mm caliber.

And the leader of the DPRK, Kim Jong-un, led the exercises, MIA Rossiya Segodnya.

It cites the South Korean news agency Yonhap as the source of this information, which in turn refers to the North Korean newspaper Nodong Sinmun.

Leader Kim Jong Un conducted the first tactical exercise simulating a nuclear counterattack using “ultra-large” multiple launch rocket systems, it said.

And the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reports that the nuclear weapons trigger integrated control system was also used in the exercises.

In addition, the Volcano Alert crisis warning system was tested.

The DPRK state news agency also notes the fact that during the exercise, the military hit a target located 352 meters away.

Please note: the events were aimed at demonstrating the “reliability and superiority” of Pyongyang’s nuclear potential.

Earlier, Kim Jong-un said that the DPRK would attack South Korea if necessary.
