North Korea has legally declared itself a nuclear power.

The new law enshrines a provision according to which the country’s leader Kim Jong-un receives the absolute sole right to make any decisions on the use of nuclear weapons.

About this MIA “Russia Today” with reference to the South Korean agency “Yonhap”, which in turn refers to the media of the neighboring country.

Innovations, as noted by the Central Telegraph Agency of the DPRK, are stipulated in the decree “Policy regarding Nuclear Weapons.”

This document was approved at the session of the Supreme People’s Assembly on Wednesday, September 7.

It contains 11 points on the purpose of nuclear weapons, the composition of nuclear forces, command and control over them.

There are also provisions on the use of nuclear weapons, the conditions under which they can be used, mobilization, etc.

Clause No. 3 on “command and control of nuclear weapons” spells out the rule regarding the sole right to dispose of nuclear weapons by the leader of the country.

It also notes that Kim Jong-un independently makes any decisions on the use of such weapons.
