North Korea launched an unidentified projectile towards the Sea of Japan.

It is assumed that it could be an intercontinental ballistic missile.

MIA Rossiya Segodnya reported this with reference to the Yonhap agency, which in turn refers to data received from representatives of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of South Korea.

Please note that there is no information yet about the range and maximum flight altitude of the missile.

TBS TV channel also informed about the launch of the projectile, citing data from the Japanese Ministry of Defense.

The agency called on the crews of naval ships to monitor relevant information about the launch.

If sailors discover fallen remains of a rocket, they should not approach them.

In this case, they are instructed to inform the maritime security service, the ministry said.

Let us add that since the beginning of 2022, the DPRK has already carried out – including the current one – 14 missile launches.

The last time Pyongyang carried out such tests was on April 16.
