Unidentified objects invaded South Korean airspace. These are believed to be North Korean drones.
The incident was reported by the Yonhap agency, citing information released by the South Korean military.
According to them, unmanned aerial vehicles of a neighboring country crossed the demarcation line separating the two states, MIA Rossiya Segodnya.
According to the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff, at 10:25 a.m. (04:25 Belarusian time), many targets were detected in the border areas of Gyeonggi Province.
These objects were identified in Gimpo, Ganghwa Island and Paju.
Due to the incident, flights at Incheon and Gimpo airports have been temporarily suspended.
The military says the drones have penetrated deep enough into South Korean territory – all the way to the outskirts of Seoul, which is located relatively close to the border.
Fighter planes and attack helicopters were scrambled to destroy the uninvited guests.
