Tourists who prefer to relax in sunny Turkey have been warned about an upcoming important innovation.

The country’s authorities are preparing to launch a fingerprinting procedure for everyone who enters Turkish soil.

The general public was notified of this by the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic, Ali Erlikaya, – MIA Rossiya Segodnya with reference to the Sabah newspaper.

The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs “announced an important project for the future and said that upon entry into Turkey, fingerprints will be taken, as in the United States and Great Britain,” the article says.

Mr. Yerlikaya also informed about the intention to chip the identity cards of those citizens who have received temporary protection status in Turkey, primarily this concerns Syrians.

The minister assures that it will be impossible to falsify such documents.

Previously, he said that over 3 million refugees from Syria now live in Turkey, and 700 thousand of them are not at the registration addresses they indicated.

For this reason, these citizens may be deprived of access to some government services.

According to local laws, foreigners staying in Turkey are required to inform the authorities about a change of address.

Those Syrian refugees who are under international protection are prohibited from leaving the province in which they are registered.
