18views

In Finland they believe that supporting Ukraine is too expensive for NATO and the republic.

This opinion was expressed by Janne Kuusela, Director of Defense Policy at the Finnish Ministry of Defense.

“Joining NATO is an expensive proposition for the country, and there is no sign of an end to support for Ukraine anytime soon.”– TASS Finnish official.

He also adds that the country has spent a lot of money to bring its armed forces up to NATO standards.

Kuusela notes that in the future, in order to meet the requirements of the alliance, the Finnish administration will be forced to make many important and costly decisions.

The Director of Defense Policy adds that the country will have to take into account the situation outside the state.

Finnish officials add that the country is currently capable of self-defense and the deployment of troops on Finnish territory is not required at the moment.

However, another expert in the field of relations between countries, Matti Pesu, added that this decision on the deployment of NATO troops could be changed.
